Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal recently hosted its Estate Planning Table of Experts panel discussion, where Jennifer Lammers, a partner in our Private Wealth Planning practice group, joined the discussion on on navigating issues such as health care directives, charitable giving, and upcoming changes to the tax landscape.
“Your best tool is a good advisor,” Jennifer stated. “It’s most helpful to have a professional lead the solution and help you with your goals.”
When asked about life events that may require a review of estate planning documents, Jennifer responded, “I always say, death, disability and maturity. Those are sort of the big three that I look at. You have someone who passes who you’ve had named as your fiduciary, or you have children that have matured into new roles, or they can take on those roles, or they don’t need to have assets and trust anymore.”
In her extensive practice, Jennifer assists clients with drafting wills and trusts, wealth transfer techniques, estate and gift tax issues, charitable planning, probate, trusts administration, disability planning, guardianships and conservatorships, and elder law matters including medical assistance. Jennifer is recognized by Best Lawyers as one of the Best Lawyers in America (2019-present), and her Private Wealth Planning practice has been ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth guide since 2021. She has also been selected to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list (2018-present) and was listed as a 40 Under 40 honoree by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (2011). For her reputation, skill, and contributions to the legal field through lecturing, writing, teaching, and leadership activities, Jennifer was also recently elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
This discussion was moderated by Dyanne Ross-Hanson (Exit Planning Strategies), and included Sharon Olson (Olson Wealth Group), Nicholas Hulwi (Hellmuth & Johnson) and Erika Toftness (Larkin Hoffman).
