Dan Grimsrud, a mergers and acquisitions specialist in our Business & Corporate Law practice group, was interviewed on the September 4, 2019 episode of Ryan Tansom’s Life After Business podcast titled, “The Role of an M&A Attorney, Due Diligence and How to Maximize Your Sale Price.” The episode focused on how sellers can improve their outcomes by planning ahead and working to understand the lens through which prospective buyers will see their business.
“I always tell clients, let’s pretend like you’re going to sell your business at the end of the year. Look at it through that lens and say, what are the things that are going to be impediments to maximizing value?” Dan stresses, “Even for clients that have no intention, that have a long runway and the intention to own and run their business for twenty years, I think that’s a great exercise, because ...it’s a way to look at your business from a different perspective, the way that an outside party would if they were thinking about buying it.”
