Best & Flanagan seeks a legal administrative assistant with at least 3 years of estate planning experience to work in its well established and growing private wealth planning section. This position requires the strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail necessary to assist our attorneys in their high volume, fast-paced practice. Work is personal and collaborative and the ability to relate and work well with clients, attorneys and staff is essential.
Job Summary
To provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including, but not limited to, production of legal work, time keeping, billing, communications with clients, management of attorney practice and marketing.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist 2-3 attorneys/paralegals with organization, management and production of client work product
- Monitor and manage individual attorney dockets and task lists
- Manage email correspondence and calls, including replying to routine correspondence and client needs
- Coordinate client billing between attorneys and accounting department
- Maintain systems for electronic document and email management
Qualifications and Skills
Required Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize multiple projects, manage deadlines and creatively assist with practice and client management tasks
- Technical aptitude with Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software systems particular to firm and practice
- Knowledge of e-filing process at county and federal levels
- Ability to work with others in a team setting
- Detail oriented, able to proofread and correct errors
Qualifications:
- High School graduate, some college preferred
- Law firm experience producing work product for attorneys and paralegals, including efiling of documents in various courts
