Elizabeth Cox and Megan Kunze will present at the upcoming education session hosted by the Association of Women Contractors (AWC) on Tuesday, February 10. Their presentation will focus on the timely and challenging topic for Minnesota’s construction industry: how heightened U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity can disrupt ongoing projects.
The session will address the legal and operational implications of ICE presence on or near job sites, including workforce interruptions, access restrictions, and schedule delays. Elizabeth and Megan will walk through the limits of ICE authority in public versus private work zones, employer rights and obligations under current enforcement practices, and circumstances that may unintentionally broaden investigative scope.
From a risk management perspective, the conversation will extend to practical considerations for Minnesota contractors. These include contract-related exposure when projects stall, strategies for minimizing disruption, and responsive planning for labor interruptions that may stem from compliance actions.
Both Elizabeth and Megan draw from extensive experience advising and representing clients in the construction and employment contexts. The presentation is grounded in their work helping business leaders navigate uncertainty while maintaining project continuity.
This virtual session hosted by AWC runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To learn more or to register, please visit the event page.
